2022

This project tests whether low tunnels can advance the first flush of early-blooming roses by approximately two weeks. Distant Drums roses grown under low tunnels will be compared with uncovered controls. Air and soil temperatures, leaf-out, bud development, bloom timing, stem counts, and stem lengths will be monitored to evaluate the potential for a Mother’s Day harvest.
