I am a third generation farmer. I grew up playing in the creek and picking roses from my grandmother's garden in Southern California. I love to spend the day in the sunshine, whether It's in the garden or sitting by the pool or beach. I believe in knowing where your food comes from and I love to trade flowers, vegetables sourdough bread and eggs with friends and neighbors to create a mini self sustaining community.Blue Mountain RanchHeather SmithWe bought our property, Blue Mountain Ranch almost 6 years ago, after searching for 20+ years. We were initially drawn to the mature perennials, trees and stunning views of the mountains. The property sits at the mouth of American Fork canyon in Highland and we have beautiful rich soil. We have worked tirelessly to bring our farm back to life and create a biodiverse environment for pollinators, birds and wildlife. We farm on a little less than 2 acres, although some of it is pasture that we are working to bring the soil back to a healthy state. We are passionate about the soil health and we work to keep our practices sustainable and organic. We grow a variety or vegetables for our own consumption and to share with others and have a growing flower farm as well. We keep chickens for their eggs as well as the rich compost they provide. We also have kept bees in the past and enjoy watching them work to pollinate both our edible and non edible crops. < Back Edit My Profile Blue Mountain Ranch We bought our property, Blue Mountain Ranch almost 6 years ago, after searching for 20+ years. - Maple Bloom Flower Farm | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association
Hi, I'm Julie Hall. I'm a farmer/florist growing fresh cut flowers on 1-acre of land in beautiful Mapleton, UT. I'm also a mom to 7-year old twins, a writer, an avid reader and I love a good adventure! I began selling flowers in 2020 and even though the world was tumultuous it was actually a great year to begin. It was a gift to be surrounded by beauty and share that beauty with others during such a difficult time. I'm so grateful for the kindness I get to be a part of as people give my flowers to people they love. (That feeling is what keeps me going on hard days.) I am also learning everyday to lean into the challenge of growing a business and an enormous garden and a young family at the same time! Thanks for supporting my small business and local flowers! Maple Bloom Flower FarmJulie HallAt Maple Bloom we believe in the power of flowers to create connection, bring joy, spread kindness, and make the world more beautiful. We grow specialty cut flowers and foliage on our 1-acre farm nestled in the foothills of Maple Mountain. We love our land! We believe in stewardship and sustainability. It's important to us to farm in a way that is good for our family, good for our ecosystem and good for our community. Because of this we use organic and regenerative farming methods. We grow over 180 varieties of cut flowers and foliage and sell both to wholesale customers and the public. You can help bring a little beauty into the world by purchasing a flower share, buying an arrangement or wrapped bouquet for someone you love, or picking up flowers for a special event. You can also find our flowers (and other locally grown flowers) at the Utah Flower Market weekly from April-October.DIY BucketsUtah Flower Market < Back Edit My Profile Maple Bloom Flower Farm At Maple Bloom we believe in the power of flowers to create connection, bring joy, spread kindness, and make the world more beautiful. - Three Sprouts Flower Farm | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association
Hi! I am Lindsey - the owner of an urban dahlia farm in Farmington, UT. It wasn't in the plans to be a dahlia farmer but after 5 years of growing and selling flowers I found out I was really good at growing dahlia flowers and storing their tubers (if you know, you know). Now I grow over 2000 dahlias! I love doing research and have been awarded a grant through the UCFFA as well as the ASCFG a national organization dedicated to specialty cut flowers. The grant topics were : 1) Dahlia Crop Per Drop Evaluation at Full and Reduced Irrigation With and Without Mulch 2) Dividing Dahlias: a cost benefit analysis of single tuber vs small clumps dividing. This research helps me to cultivate dahlias to the best of my ability. Three Sprouts Flower FarmLindseyIn 2018 I negotiated an 800 sq ft area in our backyard and boldly signed up for the Kaysville Farmers market and sold a few subscription bouquets. The concept of local flower farms was relatively new and there were amazing people who supported the farm. The farm continued to grown and in 2021 I got a dream gig - providing mixed bouquets to Harmons Grocery! I was deeply deeply schooled in learning about times and season. This season wasn't to stay as I navigated the complex relationship of working and growing humans. So I took a chance and changed my entire model of growing and selling to a single crop. Dahlia. What a wonderful beautiful year it was. This season is here to stay for a while. < Back Edit My Profile Three Sprouts Flower Farm In 2018 I negotiated an 800 sq ft area in our backyard and boldly signed up for the Kaysville Farmers market and sold a few subscription bouquets. My Name is Dayla and I love warm summer nights, Dr. Pepper, dirty hands and obviously growing all the things! I have three children that are all grown and off living their own exciting lives. I run the the farm and our farmstand with the help of my amazing sidekick, Leah. Together we do our best to manage 3 acres of fruits, vegetables and flowers organically (code for: we spend too many hours pulling weeds to talk about). Flowers are easily the most rewarding crops, they are beautiful, they attract pollinators but most importantly they make everyone happy and fill the farm with smiling faces. We obviously have a strong connections to sweet peas, my grandmother sent me a packet of them to plant in my garden every year. She passed away the year we purchased our farm and the namesake was only fitting. Yes we grow a large selection of sweet peas but they are no our only favorite! I love growing dahlias (even though some years do not give us a long enough season), peonies, and snapdragons. Sweet Pea Farm & OrchardDayla UlrichSweet Pea Farm and Orchard was established in 2014, by a first generation farmer, with the hopes of providing the community with healthy delicious food, seasonal flowers and an inviting space to connect with others and enjoy the beauty. Edge to edge, the land is filled with hundreds of varieties of heirloom and specifically chosen hybrid vegetables, herbs and a growing selection of flowers and fruits. Hidden in the back is a rambunctious beehive that has worked hard for years pollinating the fields and greenhouses. We make the best out of our short season in the high dessert by using greenhouses and as many reasonable season extension tools as feasible. Each summer we work hard to create amazing events that provide an opportunity for the community to spend time enjoying the beauty and engaging with the farmers and each other. We grow an increasing number of flower varieties each year and continue to learn what will work in our unique climate. We currently focus most of our energy on summer annuals but have been increasing our area of perennial and spring season flowers. 2021 will be the first spring we dedicate part of our greenhouse space to flower production and we are so excited to make this transition. On Farm Stand, u-pick events < Back Edit My Profile Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard Sweet Pea Farm and Orchard was established in 2014, by a first generation farmer, with the hopes of providing the community with healthy delicious food, seasonal flowers and an inviting space to connect with others and enjoy the beauty. I have always loved to grow things. When I was 8 years old, my dad let me have full design rights to a 4′ x 4′ space in his flower garden. He took me to a nursery, and apparently, I spent $80 to fill that plot. My dad didn’t blink an eye, and he said it was the most beautiful place in our yard that year. Fast forward 25 years later when my husband and I purchased 2.5 acres back in our hometown of North Ogden. We had 2 boys under 2 years old, and property with more weeds and overgrown trees than we knew what to do with. But slowly, much like that 4' x 4' space in my dad’s yard, I began to tame ours. We now grow thousands of flowers each year and host many on-farm workshops, even in the off season.North Ogden Flower FarmKellie WebbLike many local flower farmers, we grow flowers that you will not find in stores. We nurture the rare, the beautiful, the simple, the native, and the challenging. Our flowers are cut fresh, and they are grown with small-town love. How do you know if you're supposed to be a farmer? Carlyn and Brandon both grew up with agricultural families. It was normal to spend summers picking apples and making forts. Somewhere along the way too many people said that farming wasn't viable. 'Don't do this.' they recommended. After starting a family and careers, farming called again and wouldn't leave them alone. More than anything, that idea wanted to be. At first they borrowed a neighbor's backyard and turned it into a garden. After several years they established themselves in Springville on a permanent space. They love the feeling of being connected to the land and watching it produce abundantly. They enjoy bringing that feeling to other people. They believe this work can be sustainable, lift and inspire the human heart, and heal the soil.Wild Willow GardensCarlyn ThompsonThe farm began its career as a cow pasture. For decades, this place was only good for raising cattle. Then in the mid 1990's a family bought the property with only one scraggly tree on the entire farm. Ironically, it fell over shortly thereafter. For the next 25 years the farm slowly transformed into a beautiful space with ponds, orchards, gardens, native trees, and eventually even a place for a few cows :) Now the farm is transforming again. By embracing natural processes and a new focus on regenerative agriculture, the farm is beginning to produce more abundantly than ever. It will be a thriving space that not only provides the finest blooms, but also inspires those who find it. < Back Edit My Profile Wild Willow Gardens The farm began its career as a cow pasture.
