  • Utah Flower and Foliage | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association

I’m Katy and I have been in love with flowers all my life. I come from a family of flower gardeners and I have owned a garden maintenance and consulting business for 26 years. Two years ago I started selling bouquets of flowers that were grown in my own yard. The idea has evolved into a business where I am learning and creating and expanding all the time. I enjoy providing fresh seasonal flowers to the local community and sharing the message of the economic, environmental and social benefits of "buying local".Utah Flower and FoliageKaty RoachUtah Flower & Foliage is a micro farm located in the Salt Lake Valley. I grow flowers at various locations - my house, my friends’ houses, and a community garden plot. Ever since I heard about the Slow Flowers movement several years ago, it has been my dream to have a flower farm of my own. I grow a wide variety of annuals, perennials and shrubs and my favorites are the old-timey fragrant flowers like roses, viburnum, lilacs, iris, heliotrope, and sweet peas. I love it when a customer tells me about a flower that brings to mind a happy memory. I’m excited about my expansion plans for 2021, in both production and sales. There will be more to offer and more opportunity to share the beauty and benefits of local flowers! • Artisanal Blooms | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association

First thing to know about me is one of my biggest passions is flowers. Growing flowers, arranging flowers, and teaching about flowers make me excited. My passion for flowers began when I had the opportunity to attend a study abroad in London. I always knew flowers were beautiful, but when I was in London I was amazed by the charming landscapes full of flowers. After, my study abroad I became a teaching assistant at BYU for Floral Design and started my own floral company. Upon graduating I spent a year working in floral wholesale followed by event planning. I spent many years doing this and the opportunity came up to apply to be the floral design adjunct professor at BYU. In order to apply I needed to have a masters degree. I attended Washington State University and received my degree in Agriculture. While working on my degree I knew I wanted to start a flower farm and bring flowers to the community around me. Artisanal BloomsBrianna WellsAfter spending over 15 years in the floral industry creating beautiful events it was time to learn more. While I still do lots of events I decided having a flower farm would create a beautiful atmosphere for my 3 children. Having them help me grow all of our flowers from seed, plant them, take care of them, and arrange them has brought us so many fun memories that I want to continue to make at our farm. We love having a farm that brings so many people together to enjoy our beautiful secret garden while being outside. < Back Edit My Profile Artisanal Blooms After spending over 15 years in the floral industry creating beautiful events it was time to learn more. • North Ogden Flower Farm | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association

I have always loved to grow things. When I was 8 years old, my dad let me have full design rights to a 4′ x 4′ space in his flower garden. He took me to a nursery, and apparently, I spent $80 to fill that plot. My dad didn’t blink an eye, and he said it was the most beautiful place in our yard that year. Fast forward 25 years later when my husband and I purchased 2.5 acres back in our hometown of North Ogden. We had 2 boys under 2 years old, and property with more weeds and overgrown trees than we knew what to do with. But slowly, much like that 4' x 4' space in my dad’s yard, I began to tame ours. We now grow thousands of flowers each year and host many on-farm workshops, even in the off season.North Ogden Flower FarmKellie WebbLike many local flower farmers, we grow flowers that you will not find in stores. We nurture the rare, the beautiful, the simple, the native, and the challenging. Our flowers are cut fresh, and they are grown with small-town love. • Paisley Flower Farm | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association

My name is Lindy Bankhead, and I began growing specialty cut flowers 7 years ago. I began in Landscape Architecture at Utah State University, and after graduation worked at several nurseries in Logan. While raising our children at home, my husband and I built a hoop house in 2012 and I started my farm called Paisley Flower Farm. It's a wonderful industry, and I've learned so much over 7 years. Local cut flowers are so important to our local florists and economy. They really fill a niche, that isn't available through traditional imported flowers. Local flowers are more unique, fresh, fragrant, colorful, and last longer. They hold special meaning for the customers enjoying them, as they know they were grown in the same special area that they call home. Florists are also so excited about local flowers, as I can grow and bring them flowers that they can't import in. Because I'm local, the quality of my flowers totally out shines the flowers flown in boxes from countries away. It's a special feeling, to show up to the florist's shop and have them so excited by what's in my truck! I enjoy what I do, and see it not as a job, but a life-long passion that I'm blessed to share with others.Paisley Flower FarmLindy BankheadI feel incredibly lucky to grow flowers on land that has been in my husband's family for generations. My family lives and farms in the shadow of the Wellsville mountains and we often find pieces of farm tools, dishes, and toys in the soil we work. It reminds us of the love of the land and the appreciation for this land that has supported and sustained our family. My husband grows alfalfa with his family and operates an irrigation store in Logan. I work at home with our children and raise cut flowers for our local florists and flower-loving customers. I am so grateful for the many people in our community that support us as local farmers. I have been so impressed by the community's willingness to support a local farm and family. This encouragement is what keeps us going as we continue to work the land, and invest in growing cut flowers.Island Market in Logan, UT < Back Edit My Profile Paisley Flower Farm I feel incredibly lucky to grow flowers on land that has been in my husband's family for generations. • Cherry Petals Flower Farm | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association

Cherry Petals is run by Britin Van Brocklin, she received her masters degree in accounting and has been working in accounting for almost a decade. Britin needed a creative outlet and a way to help teach her children the importance of hard work and the importance of getting outside everyday. She had dreamed of growing and selling flowers for a few years and finally after hours and hours of research Britin bought her first seeds in January 2017. Since then the flower farm has changed and improved every year and although farming isn't easy it is very rewarding.Cherry Petals Flower FarmBritin Van BrocklinCherry Petals Flower Farm is an urban farm located in Kaysville, UT. The first year we grew at our grandparents cherry orchard (hence the name Cherry Petals) and sold at the Salt Lake Farmers market. We then moved to a new house with a bigger lot and have been able to grow and sell locally for the past six seasons. We grow our flowers organically and focus peonies, roses and other long lasting cut flowers. We love having cut flowers in our home and love being able to provide others with fresh local flowers. We also love being able to share our surplus blooms with our neighbors and families. Flowers really do help people feel better and we love being able to spread some joy with our flowers. < Back Edit My Profile Cherry Petals Flower Farm Cherry Petals Flower Farm is an urban farm located in Kaysville, UT. • Three Sprouts Flower Farm | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association

Hi! I am Lindsey - the owner of an urban dahlia farm in Farmington, UT. It wasn't in the plans to be a dahlia farmer but after 5 years of growing and selling flowers I found out I was really good at growing dahlia flowers and storing their tubers (if you know, you know). Now I grow over 2000 dahlias! I love doing research and have been awarded a grant through the UCFFA as well as the ASCFG a national organization dedicated to specialty cut flowers. The grant topics were : 1) Dahlia Crop Per Drop Evaluation at Full and Reduced Irrigation With and Without Mulch 2) Dividing Dahlias: a cost benefit analysis of single tuber vs small clumps dividing. This research helps me to cultivate dahlias to the best of my ability. Three Sprouts Flower FarmLindseyIn 2018 I negotiated an 800 sq ft area in our backyard and boldly signed up for the Kaysville Farmers market and sold a few subscription bouquets. The concept of local flower farms was relatively new and there were amazing people who supported the farm. The farm continued to grown and in 2021 I got a dream gig - providing mixed bouquets to Harmons Grocery! I was deeply deeply schooled in learning about times and season. This season wasn't to stay as I navigated the complex relationship of working and growing humans. So I took a chance and changed my entire model of growing and selling to a single crop. Dahlia. What a wonderful beautiful year it was. This season is here to stay for a while. < Back Edit My Profile Three Sprouts Flower Farm In 2018 I negotiated an 800 sq ft area in our backyard and boldly signed up for the Kaysville Farmers market and sold a few subscription bouquets.
