- Treshombres Farm | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association
Hi! My name is Staci and I am a second generation farmer. I’m a wife and mother to 3 amazing boys ( I call them the Treshombres….hence how came up with our name ). My love for nature and being outside started at a very young age. I enjoy hiking, camping, backpacking, trail running and fly fishing. So naturally these hobbies led me to create my own outdoor oasis right in my own backyard. Somewhere to sit with my family and enjoy fresh vegetables from the garden to nurture and cultivate beautiful flowers to garnish our kitchen table. The urge to grow my own food for my family led me to the knowledge and power of flowers. And to now share that with our community is such an honor.Treshombres FarmStaci CraigTreshombres Farm is a micro flower farm located in the heart of Orchard country here in Santaquin, Utah. Our farm started as a small raised garden bed in our backyard where the bees that we were raising could flourish. Inter-grating flowers into the garden to help support the pollinators triggered something inside myself that I just could not ignore. Growing and cultivating has become a passion that I want to share with our community. From our small backyard to now small farm plot we have expanded each year, growing more and more unique and beautiful varieties to offer to the community. Offering high quality blooms grown right here in the heart of our town to the people we love is what it’s all about. - Zinnia Postharvest Assessment: Improving Vase Life Through Cooler Storage Trials | UCFFA
< Back Zinnia Postharvest Assessment: Improving Vase Life Through Cooler Storage Trials Calee Garn Twelve florists will be selected at random from a list of florists within a 30 mile radius of our farm. Each florist will be given, at no charge, two bunches of zinnias. Florists will be instructed to not put their zinnias in a floral holding solution of any kind. We will encourage florists to place one bunch in the cooler, and the other to be left out. We will ask them to use the flowers in their design work. We will then ask them to fill out the questionnaire regarding what they were able to witness. The following data will be collected from local florists ● Are Zinnias currently used in your design work? ● Does Vase life determine the use of zinnias in your floral designs? ● Did utilizing a cooler affect the vase life of the zinnias provided? ● Will the data collected from this trial increase the usage of Zinnias in your design work? - Dream Acre Flower Farm | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association
Former 7th grade Language Arts and Spanish teacher turned flower farmer. I started selling flowers to pay for my own seed buying addiction, and it all snowballed from there. My main objective is to help people find delight and wonder in flowers by putting them together in new ways, growing unusual varieties that aren't available at traditional florists, and educating the public through social media and through teaching community courses at Snow College.Dream Acre Flower FarmTorrie MeidellOur first three years of farming, we farmed exclusively on our half-acre property, but after seeing our business continually grow each year, my husband and I went full time with our flower farm in 2023 and rented more land to grow on. We grow a wide variety of focal flowers, fillers, and foliage in order to offer deluxe bouquet subscriptions and wholesale to florists and to the public from April to September. My favorite flowers are snapdragons, and we currently grow around 25-30 varieties of snaps each year, on top of the more expected blooms (sunflowers, lisis, dahlias, zinnias, tulips, ranunculus) as well as more unexpected stems. < Back Edit My Profile Dream Acre Flower Farm Our first three years of farming, we farmed exclusively on our half-acre property, but after seeing our business continually grow each year, my husband and I went full time with our flower farm in 2023 and rented more land to grow on. - Journey Farm | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association
Growing beautiful specialty and heirloom flowers below the glowing coral cliffs of Kanab is a milestone in a lifetime journey of ranching and farming. I moved to Southern Utah as a two-year-old and have been connected to the land in one way or another ever since. I love flowers and find joy and peace in growing and sharing them. I have always grown flowers, herbs, vegetables, and trees for my own family’s benefit, but in 2018, I perceived a growing need for people to experience nature for their emotional health and wellness. I talked my husband into letting me plant the .25-acre weedy strip beside the long lane to our house into cut flowers. I have since converted 1.5 acres of our 33 acres of hayfields to flowers. There is a quiet wellness that comes from aligning life with the rhythms of nature and the circle of seasons. I have benefited from creating Journey Farm and hope that connection can be felt by visitors and those who purchase or receive the flowers (fruits) of my labors.Journey FarmLoretta ClaysonJourney Farm’s purpose is: Grow flowers to ease the mind, feed the soul, refresh the spirit, and gladden the heart. The sight, smell, and feel of flowers can trigger a pleasant memory or elicit positive feelings. Spending time outdoors is beneficial for wellness but is not always easy to do. Flowers are a convenient way to experience a little nature indoors. We offer wholesale to florists and designers, bulk DIY flowers, bouquet subscriptions, and florals for hospitality businesses and professional offices. We also do workshops, scheduled U-picks, and special on-farm events. Journey Farm continues to evolve/expand our grow list and acreage. We have built high tunnels to extend our ranunculus and dahlia seasons and other structures to facilitate our winter tulip-forcing operation. We use earth/people/animal-friendly methods for safety and sustainability, and no-till practices to build healthier soil. - Bailey’s Blooms | Utah Cut Flower Farm Association
I absolutely love to "Spread Sunshine" to those around me. Although I have been growing dahlias for over 12 years, my passion in flower farming started 5 years ago. I quickly realized how many others around me had the same passion as I did, and "Bailey's Blooms" was born. I absolutely love every classification of dahlias and grow all 42, although I am passionate about Waterlily forms, balls, formal decorative and larger AA forms. We at Bailey's Blooms love hosting Floral arranging parties, hosting youth groups, teaching at Thanksgiving Point, The Utah Dahlia Society, running fund raisers for local charities and sharing all things dahlias. Most of which I do for free to educate and share my knowledge to those who are eager to learn. - Season Extension of Tulips using Pre-cooled Bulbs and a High Tunnel | UCFFA
< Back Season Extension of Tulips using Pre-cooled Bulbs and a High Tunnel Julie Hall For this project I will order 600 tulips, 200 each of 3 types of pre-cooled tulips including early and mid blooming varieties. Tulips will be planted in soil in crates and kept at 40 degrees in my garage to initiate root development. Once roots are established they will be moved to a space where they can continue to chill and will be systematically moved into the high tunnel over a 4 week period. I will move 50 of each variety into the high tunnel each week and label each crate with a date. I will measure their bloom time, daily temperature, height, # of marketable stems, and number of stems sold. I will also track my labor and costs associated with growing the tulips to determine profitability. Download Report Blooming Zoom Previous Next
